Data you provide and why we use it
The Contact, Start a Project and Website Fix forms collect the name and email address you enter, selected service, project description, budget range, optional timing and website URL, whether the work concerns an existing project, and your privacy acknowledgement. We use this information to assess and reply to the request, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, keep an enquiry record and manage later project discussions. A submission does not add you to a marketing list. Do not submit passwords, API keys, payment-card details, confidential production data or sensitive personal records.
Technical data, logs and security
The website runs behind Nginx on a self-managed Linux server in Frankfurt, Germany. Standard server and proxy logs may record an IP address, request time, requested URL, method, response status, referrer and browser user-agent. The enquiry and event endpoints also use a keyed digest derived from the visitor IP address for rate limiting; that entry expires after one hour.
Limited first-party measurement
The site records service views, contact-link clicks, form interaction and successfully saved enquiries. First-touch attribution can include UTM source, medium, campaign, content and term plus the first landing path. These values and a random tab identifier are kept in sessionStorage and may accompany an enquiry or limited first-party event. Analytics events do not accept names, email addresses, enquiry text or full referring URLs. The site does not currently use Google Analytics, GA4, Meta Pixel, advertising cookies or user accounts.
Language preference and browser storage
When you choose a language, the studio_locale cookie stores en, zh, de, fr or es for one year. Without a saved preference, the site checks the browser Accept-Language header. No GeoIP provider is currently enabled, so country-based language selection is not used in production. A random measurement identifier and post-submission receipt reference may be kept in sessionStorage until the browser tab closes.
Storage, email and the outbox
Enquiries, delivery status and limited event records are stored in a private SQLite database on the server. Each public form queues an outbox record and uses QQ Mail SMTP to send Qian Lin Web a notification containing the enquiry reference and selected service; the full enquiry remains in the server database. The submitted email address is set as Reply-To. If delivery fails, the form does not report success.
WhatsApp, providers and international processing
WhatsApp links open wa.me in a new tab with a language-specific introductory message and Qian Lin Web's number. This website does not send form data to WhatsApp. If you follow the link or send a message, Meta and WhatsApp process your information under their own terms. Qian Lin Web also uses hosting and network infrastructure and QQ Mail for email. These providers may process technical or message data outside your country. Website and enquiry data is processed on the Frankfurt server, while email and WhatsApp can involve separate international processing.
Retention and security
The application is configured with a 180-day retention period for enquiries, outbox records and first-party events. Older records are removed when the operator runs the retention command; the application does not delete them on every request. Server logs and protected backups follow separate operational schedules. Information needed for a project, accounting, a dispute or a legal obligation may be retained for that purpose. The site uses HTTPS, keeps the database outside public content, blocks direct public access to the app port and keeps SMTP and security secrets on the server. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a copy of information you supplied. Qian Lin Web may verify your identity and retain information required for security, contractual or legal reasons. Send requests to qianlinweb@qq.com.
